My Goals for the Summer

Monica, from I Heart Grade 3, has created a Weekly Summer Link-Up.  I'm going to start off with this first week topic: My Goals for the Summer.
Weekly Blog Linky - May 24
Summer break is not as soon for me as it is for some of my American teaching friends.  Summer break starts at the end of June - the 26th to be exact.  However, with the temperature being 28 C yesterday and today, I am totally thinking about summer!

I'm thinking this summer will be the first one where I haven't taken on another job through the summer months.  Instead, I'm going to focus my energies onto my TpT store - which I guess is a job in itself, though I don't really see it that way.

I'd like to update some older products, change my covers to have my new logo for consistency and add some new products as well.

Okay, I know, my classroom is already pretty organized.  Maybe a better name would be, classroom clean up.  Here's some things I'd like to do:
- Wash the lego, math manipulatives etc
- Go through my teacher cupboard and pair down my binders to what is really needed
- Make sure games have all the correct pieces

These are just the tedious maintenance things I don't really have time to do throughout the year. I know some people would not look at this as something fun to do over the summer, but for me, doing this over the summer means a better start to my year next year and I'm all about that!

I have made some serious headway on my Mexico trip book.  But, I'm still only half way through.  I've kind of stalled out with other things becoming a priority.  Not to mention all the other random pictures that need to get done.  Summer is always a great time for me to catch up on this.

And, of course, I am up for some backyard BBQs, sun tanning, early morning walks and all the other excellent things that come with summer!

What are your summer goals?

  1. Good luck on achieving all your summer goals!! Can totally understand the whole updating cover pics for products, i am halfway through mine - so exhausting but so worth it!!!

    1. Thanks for stopping by! I am glad you think it's worth it... makes me a bit more interested in putting in the effort. :)

  2. Hi Angela!

Thank you so much for linking up to the Weekly Summer Link-Up Party! It's nice to see that I have a fellow scrapbooking fan among my circle of teacher/ bloggers!

Good luck washing all those Legos and math manipulatives! What I do is put them into a mesh bag and throw them into the dishwasher! Saves a lot of time - and I just place them out on a towel to air dry!

Cheers! I hope you are able to link up again throughout the summer!

    1. That's how I plan on doing it too, Monica - mesh bags. Still will take some time to get done. It's better over the summer when I'm not monopolizing the school dishwasher. :)

  3. I think we have all the same goals!! Yay for summer!

  4. I am a scrapbooker too! I hope to do that this summer as well!

  5. Hi! I found your blog post through the linky! :) I looove to scrapbook, I'm in love with Project Life at the moment :D

    Have a great day!

    1. Project Life makes it so easy! I love to mix it in to my other stuff. Have you used the app? I'm using it to make yearbook pages for my class.
